ForWind is the joint center for wind energy research of the universities of Oldenburg, Hannover and Bremen. The research at ForWind covers a broad spectrum of engineering and physics and provides scientific support for industrial projects. Together with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems (IWES), ForWind forms the Research Alliance Wind Energy (FVWE).
CENER develops applied research in renewable energies, and provides technological support to companies and energy institutions in six areas: wind, solar thermal and photovoltaic energy, biomass, smart and efficient buildings, and grid integration of energy. CENER is a technology centre with worldwide recognised prestige, activity and experience. Apart from its multidisciplinary team, the Wind Energy Department has important technological infrastructures, such as the Wind Turbine Test Laboratory and an Experimental Wind Farm in complex terrain.
